Data Quality and Missing Data in Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Using EMR/Claims Data
PCORI convened a multistakeholder workgroup to discuss current research and explore opportunities to help resolve key issues and challenges presented by missing data and data quality using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) 1 and Claims Data. The meeting focused on commonly encountered problems, existing solutions, and refined the research agenda needed to improve data quality.
Workgroup members included biostatisticians, informatics experts, epidemiologists, representatives from PCORnet networks, PCORI staff, and researchers from industry, universities, healthcare organizations, and federal agencies. The meeting was held at PCORI’s offices in Washington, DC.
