Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Will Host National Workshop to Advance Use of Electronic Data

Top researchers and thought leaders will provide vision for how national data infrastructure can contribute to high quality patient-centered outcomes research

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will convene a select group of researchers and thought leaders for the “The National Workshop to Advance the Use of Electronic Data in Patient-Centered Outcomes Research,” July 2-3, in Palo Alto, Calif.

The two-day workshop will focus on developing ideas for how PCORI can facilitate the creation or function of a national data infrastructure to support high quality patient-centered outcomes research.

The workshop will inform PCORI’s prioritization of work in this important area of research.

  • What: National Workshop to Advance the Use of Electronic Data in Patient-Centered Outcomes Research, hosted by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute
  • When: July 2-3, 2012
  • Where: Palo Alto, Calif. (Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center, McCaw Hall and Fisher Conference Center, Stanford University)
  • Who: The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and a select group of thought leaders representing researchers, information scientists, clinicians, patients, advocacy communities, government, health systems, payers and industry.

All presentations, panels and discussion sessions will be available to the public through a live interactive webcast of the workshop. Individuals viewing the webcast will be encouraged to participate virtually by asking questions or submitting comments throughout the event.

This is the first of many workshops and events to engage all stakeholders in the implementation and further refinement of PCORI’s research agenda.
