PCORI Board to Consider Topics for Targeted Research During Dec. 3 Meeting

Board will also vote on reauthorizing advisory panels during public webinar

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 25, 2013) – The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors will consider approving the development of targeted funding announcements on obesity and transitional care during a public teleconference and webinar from noon to 1 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Dec. 3.

In addition, the Board will vote on reauthorizing PCORI’s first four Advisory Panels, which were established in March 2013. Comprised of patients and other stakeholders, the panels help refine and prioritize specific research questions.

The targeted topics under consideration were developed with input from patients and other stakeholders through public workshops and the advisory panels. PCORI has already approved three targeted funding announcements, as part of its robust portfolio to address high-priority comparative clinical effectiveness research topics identified by the broad healthcare community.
